BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

The body holds the history of who we are and where we’ve been.

Our bodies respond to stress (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual) by contraction or withdrawal. This is how the body protects itself. In time, the stress, tension or trauma is likely to become held in the body—in movement of the tissues, cells and organs—which can restrict healthy functioning. This may give rise to problems or “dis-ease.”

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy facilitates a deep healing process.

This therapy is a whole-body therapy that encourages the building of resources and the repatterning of trauma held in the nervous system. It is appropriate for people of all ages, from prenates and infants to the elderly.

Together with the patient, I witness how the body is holding congestion or restriction. Bringing attention to subtle motion and the layers of history that typically have been held within body patterns allows an opportunity for more fluid movement and more ease in the system’s functioning.

The body tells us where to begin.
It tells us where we can work and where we can’t.

As I come into relationship with a patient, whether I am sitting with them or working with them remotely, the session is always grounded in presence, safety and the therapeutic relationship.

I listen to what the patient says, and then I listen to how the body is manifesting on the table. This is a patient-led technique. Your system sets the priorities for the session.

“Life is expressed via motion. Whether this is in the voluntary motions of the musculoskeletal system or the involuntary motions of the cells, fluids and tissues of the body, life is in motion. Practitioners learn to perceive the body’s intrinsic movement dynamics, rhythms and pulsations. Within this context, they are able to appreciate the inherent Health within the system and its historical patterns of trauma, pathology and inertia. Practitioners can assist both the expression of the inherent Health of the system and the resolution of its inertial forces and patterns.”
